The Story of Akademi J&W

Our journey commenced in 1995 when our visionary founder, Dr. Jeremy Tan, embarked on a career in the optical industry by joining an optical shop, where he pursued studies in F.B.D.O through 100% study sponsorship. Over seven years of dedicated work and study undergoing similar arrangement like Corporate Sponsorship Rewards Programme, Dr. Jeremy Tan fulfilled his dream of establishing his very own Optical Outlet just two years later.

The driving force behind the establishment of Akademi J&W was Dr. Jeremy Tan's unwavering commitment to providing opportunities, especially for underprivileged SPM & STPM school leavers, to access high-quality tertiary education while simultaneously charting their individual career paths. Akademi J&W firmly believes that students who enrol in the Corporate Sponsorship Rewards Programme gain a competitive advantage over other graduates via the invaluable work experience acquired through the program whilst studying.

Dr. Jeremy Tan — Founder & Managing Director

Dr. Jeremy is passionate in education and with his wealth of experience in the field, Jeremy has established Akademi J&W as a leading provider of high-quality educational programs and services.

His 28-year’s journey in the Corporate Sponsorship Rewards Programme (C.S.R. Programme) is known by his hands-on approach and his commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment. He is highly respected in the industry and has received numerous accolades for his contributions to education.

The CSR Programme by Akademi J&W had helped more than 1,000 students while at the same time benefitting corporate sponsors in talent acquisition.

He has also won the Malaysia SME Platinum Business Awards 2022.

Mr. Winston Yeoh — Executive Director

Mr. Winston Yeoh has been a long-time innovator in the education industry. His entrepreneurial experiences had well been proven by his achievements in being the TOP 10 JCI Creative Yung Entrepreneur (CYEA) Award, and also the TOP 30 of the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians (TOYM) Award in 2019.

Mr Winston graduated from the Master degree in Genovasi University College, and graduated from UKM with a BSc. (Honors) Degree.

Other than founding Akademi JW with Jeremy, Mr Winston is also the Group CEO of SIM Education Group, which includes:
